The School of the Cathedral announced today a new Pre-K 4 program, Junior Kindergarten Colts, for the 2022-2023 school year. Junior Kindergarten Pre-K 4 is a robust full-day preschool program, designed to establish a strong foundation for learning in the early years in a safe, caring, Catholic-learning environment.
โWe are so excited to launch this new initiative,โ says Dr. Wright, 6-year Principal at School of the Cathedral. โThis Pre-K 4 program will help fulfill our school mission to prepare students for the future by delivering an innovative education, challenge them to be creative problem-solvers and to live a life in Christ. By enrolling in preschool at Cathedral students will be better prepared for the rigors of our K-8 curriculum.โ
โI am very excited that the School of the Cathedral will offer a Pre-K 4 program for the next academic year,โ says Fr. Louis Bianco, Rector of Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. โ[This] Catholic preschool program will enable the children to learn and develop in a loving, faith-based atmosphere where they will learn about prayer, Godโs love for them, and how they are to love God and others.โ

Features of the Junior Kindergarten curriculum include:
- A program that models Cathedralโs Pre-K through Grade 8 school schedule, with a structured and vibrant curriculum to better prepare students for Cathedralโs Kindergarten curriculum.
- Inclusion in Cathedralโs Extended Day Program (CED), if needed.
- One stop drop-off for families, with hours and tuition rates the same as the rest of the school.
- A faith-filled environment, with the opportunity to attend Mass, and participate in community service projects.
