The way we work is evolving – and it’s affecting everyone, from job seekers and early-career professionals to managers and business leaders trying to keep up with rapid change.
Jewish Community Services (JCS), an agency of The Associated, invites the Greater Baltimore community to The Future-Ready Workplace, a free event designed to help people better understand and navigate today’s shifting world of work.
Wednesday, June 3 | DoubleTree by Hilton North – Pikesville
The evening will bring together employers, job seekers, and professionals from across the region for an evening focused on understanding – and preparing for – the modern world of work.
At the center of the program is a keynote from Liz Fosslien, bestselling author and workplace expert known for translating complex workplace dynamics into practical, relatable strategies. Fosslien will share insights on changing expectations between employers and employees, the growing importance of communication and culture, and the expanding role of artificial intelligence.
Joining her will be Maryland Secretary of Commerce Harry Coker, Jr., offering perspective on how today’s workplace trends are shaping the state’s broader economic landscape.

The evening begins with a private Networking Lounge for employers, business leaders, and managers, offering dedicated time to connect and hear exclusive insights from keynote speaker Liz Fosslien, setting the stage for the broader program to follow.
From there, the event opens to the wider community, welcoming anyone thinking about their next career step, managing teams, or simply trying to make sense of shifting workplace norms.
While the subject matter may feel big-picture, Fosslien emphasizes that the focus is on practical application.
“Navigating the modern workplace can feel overwhelming, especially with so much changing around us,” she says. “But it doesn’t have to. I’m excited to share actionable guidance that helps people bridge generational differences, design for uncertainty, and strengthen emotional resilience at work.”
Joan Grayson Cohen, Executive Director of JCS, adds, “At JCS, we see firsthand how changes in the workplace are affecting both individuals and organizations. This is an opportunity to bring people together to better understand those changes and to offer practical insight that helps them move forward with confidence.”
Following the main program, attendees are invited to stay for the JCS Annual Meeting.
Whether you’re hiring, job searching, or simply trying to stay ahead of what’s next, The Future-Ready Workplace offers a chance to step back, connect, and gain clarity in a moment of rapid change.
