The circle takes the square today in Towson.

The developer that owns Towson Circle is set to buy Towson Square, according to a statement issued today. Retail Properties of America will buy the recently-opened Towson Square from the Cordish Cos. for $40.5 million.

The property includes the Cinemark movie multiplex, BJโ€™s Restaurant, World of Beer, Bonefish Grill and other eateries. Towson Circle is the adjacent property with Trader Joeโ€™s and Barnes and Noble.

After the deal closes, the new owners plan to โ€œintegrate both of these properties into one property as part of the larger planned redevelopment,โ€ the statement says. In other words, expect more changes in Towson along with the forthcoming Towson Row.

The name of the new property isnโ€™t known yet. May we suggest the squared circle?
