A massive fire at a West Baltimore mattress warehouse Monday evening into Tuesday morning has displaced neighbors and disrupted train service in the area.
The fire has been contained Tuesday morning and was downgraded from seven alarms to three, after about 200 firefighters battled the blaze overnight.
MARC train service on the Penn Line has been cancelled Tuesday out of concern that the warehouse structure could collapse onto the train tracks, Maryland Transit Administration officials said.
MARC train service remains operational for the Camden Line and Brunswick Line, but commuters should expect delays.
Amtrak services between Baltimore and Washington may be delayed due to congestion along the rails, company officials said.
All services traveling between Washington (WAS) and Baltimore (BAL) may experience a delay of up to 20 minutes due to rail congestion and single-tracking through the area. We sincerely apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.

In addition to fire-related delays, rain is causing slick conditions on roadways and flooding in some areas. Motorists are urged to use caution and to not drive through flood waters.
Fifteen households were evacuated due to the nearby warehouse fire. They are receiving assistance from the Red Cross and Baltimore City partners, the Red Cross said.
