Deck the walls by giving the gift of art this holiday season! Maryland Art Place (MAP) is excited to host its 10th annual UNDER $500 affordable art sale where artwork is sold on a first come first served basis right off our gallery walls! Friday, December 9 from 6 pm to 10 pm (ticketed) and Saturday, December 10, 2022 (last chance). Tickets are $25 and gain entry to the after-party in the basement from 10 pm to 1 am. UNDER $500 promotes the sale of artwork by artists in the Maryland region. Guests can expect to mingle with other artists, collectors, patrons, and general art enthusiasts at the event. Take your purchases home with you the night of the event. Gift wrapping will be available on-site.

This year’s theme is UGLY SWEATER. Please come in your most unattractive attire! MAP will have holiday trees on display decorated by children aged 4 to 16 with ornaments created at our ornament-making workshops where 100% of all ornament sales will go to the young artists who created them. The atmosphere will be cheerful with some holly jolly tunes by DJ Aran Keating of Ridiculous Entertainment and Drag Queens Whimsy Thrift & Brooklyn Heights! MAP is also bringing Captain Cookie and the Milkman truck offering made-from-scratch cookies, local creamery milk, and made-to-order ice cream sandwiches! Later, join us in the basement for screenings of claymation classics and music (entertainment TBA).
A virtual sale and exhibition will also take place and will be featured online HERE from Saturday, December 10 at 10 am– Wednesday, December 14 at 10 pm. Artwork will NOT be available to view online until December 10 at 10 am. Be sure to register in advance in the interim! Registration is free.
Sales & Pick Up: MAP is aiming for all sold work to be on-site (@MAP) before December 24th, in time for the holidays. Once the sale closes on December 14 at 10 pm, MAP will coordinate with the artists to have the work delivered. Buyers will be notified once your purchase is secured and onsite at MAP. BUYERS-Please make sure your artwork is at MAP before coming to pick it up. The pickup window will be Dec 19 – 22, from 11 am – 4 pm or by appointment. All artwork will be wrapped and ready to fulfill its destiny as the perfect holiday gift!
