In America, everyone gets their day. Saturday, Feb. 27, is dedicated to sword swallowers everywhere, and an Inner Harbor attraction is celebrating.
Ripley’s Odditorium will host a special celebration for the sideshow lovers in all of us. Christopher Scarborough is set to swallow swords and perform other stunts at 2 p.m., with a special demonstration at 2:27 p.m. to mark the day.
Sword swallowing actually dates back 4,000 years, and it’s done more than provide entertainment. With their exceptionally esophageal expansion, sword swallowers were the subject for an early endoscope exam, and electrocardiogram.
