Orioles manager Buck Showalter was asked on Wednesday to offer advice to young black people living in Baltimore. I’d say he acquitted himself well.
“You hear people try to weigh in on things that they really don’t anything about,” he said in response. “I tell guys all the time when they talk about…, ‘I’ve never been black, OK? So I don’t know. I can’t put myself there.’”
If you can trace his logic through all the colloquialisms, his whole statement is pretty worthwhile and a good example of someone respecting what he doesn’t know.

This is why we love Buck! I hope he stays in Baltimore forever.
