The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore has been named a finalist in the 2026 Most Beautiful Hospitals contest, one of 57 hospitals vying for a spot on the Top 20 list as public voting begins.

Soliant Health,ย a national health care professionals recruiting company, launched the contest in 2009. Since then, Soliant has recognized more than 200 hospitals around the United States. Criteria include beauty inside and out, thoughtful design, spaces that are welcoming to patients and visitors, artwork, and incorporation of nature. The contest also prioritizes hospitals with professionals and staff who consistently focus on patient experience.

In 2025, the contest drew more than 2.3 million votes. Voting in 2026 runs from Sept. 14 through Oct. 16. The 20 hospitals receiving the most votes will be announced on Oct. 23. The hospital receiving the most votes nationwide will also receive a $5,000 donation to its foundation from Soliant.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital was nominated for having a bright, open, and welcoming design. Beauty is more than brick-deep, though. The hospital was also recognized for the way it pairs its historic medical legacy with research, innovation, and patient care. Hopkins’ environment is considered sophisticated with modern technology that supports highly specialized care for todayโ€™s patients, while having a future-looking mindset and commitment to advancing medical research.

Apart from its being singled out for its beauty as a Soliant Health finalist, U.S. News & World Report named The Johns Hopkins Hospital to its Honor Roll as one of the top 20 hospitals in the nation for 2026-27. The magazine ranked the hospital No. 1 in Maryland and Baltimore, No. 1 in rheumatology, and No. 1 for obstetrics and gynecology.

โ€œWhen people vote for their hospital, they are often voting for much more than a building,โ€ said Graig Paglieri, CEO of Soliant Health. โ€œThey are recognizing the nurses, clinicians, support staff, volunteers, and entire teams who made them feel cared for when they needed it most. We love seeing communities come together to celebrate the hospitals that mean something to them, and we are excited to see that support in action again this year.โ€

To vote for The Johns Hopkins Hospital, view the full list of finalists, or review the official contest rules, visit Soliant Healthโ€™s Most Beautiful Hospital contest website. Voters can submit as many votes as they like each day of the contest, and there is no purchase necessary to vote.

Two other Maryland hospitals are also listed as finalists: Brook Lane and Meritus Medical Center, both facilities in Hagerstown.
