Since Baltimore has been the subject of many SNL skits over the last year and the entire city was in watching TV on Saturday night anyway, the question became not if SNL would choose to send up the week’s events, but how they would go about it.
To navigate the weighty events of the week, the show’s writers relied on the Orioles’ empty-stadium game, wordplay and a dash of Scarlett Johansson. They stayed true to life in one respect, showing WBAL-TV and anchor Donna Hamilton to open the sketch.
