Comfort food destination Water for Chocolate welcomed a high-profile surprise visitor yesterday.

Queen Latifah showed up at the restaurant for some shrimp nโ€™ grits, according to a photo shared on Facebook by the restaurant (above). The image shows Latifah standing with chef Sean Guy and others outside the establishment at 1841 E. Lombard Street, with a post that reads, โ€œWhen #queenlatifah walks in your restaurant and says she heard you got that dope BBQ Shrimp & Grits !!!โ€

Water for Chocolate serves up โ€œsexy comfort cuisine,โ€ according to its website. Brunch specialties include the aforementioned BBQ shrimp and grits (notably served with jalapeรฑo cornbread), Norwegian eggs benedict and risotto fritters served with crispy prosciutto and Tabasco hollandaise, according to its menu.

Guy wasnโ€™t available to comment Tuesday, the one day a week when his restaurant is closed.

Itโ€™s unclear whether Queen Latifah was in Baltimore to work or just to visit. The actress told Vanity Fair in 2015 that she has family around Baltimore and โ€œgrew up kind of down there.โ€ Sheโ€™s been spotted in the area before, and reportedly owns a home in Joppa.
