Last month, the Butchers Hill arts space MAXgallery hosted a block party to celebrate Arabbers, the merchants who sell produce throughout the city using jangling, horse-drawn carts. It’s one of those only-in-Baltimore traditions that everybody knows about but still makes people turn their heads and smile whenever they hear the carts coming and the Arabbers yelling their distinctive calls.

The block party included music, art inspired by the Arabbing tradition, pony rides and, of course, a few Arabbers themselves.

Tonight’s closing reception offers the last chance to see the artwork, and to talk with the members of several Arabber stables about their equine-driven mobile markets of fresh fruits and vegetables.

5-8 p.m., MAXgallery, 126 N. Madeira St., (410) 804-7459, facebook.com/MAXgallerySE, free.
