Comedian, actor and recent social media do-gooder Patton Oswalt is performing stand-up at the Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric on Nov. 9.

But as anyone whoโ€™s seen his 2017 Netflix special โ€œAnnihilationโ€ knows, Oswaltโ€™s return to the stage following the sudden death of his wife, true crime writer Michelle McNamara, is about more than comedy. The Ringer called the special โ€œa heartfelt exploration of grief,โ€ detailing how Oswalt had to break the news to his young daughter and the ways heโ€™s worked through the tragedy since.

As the comic put it in an interview with Vulture: โ€œYou know, you never truly heal. But you do evolve into someone different, someone who can still live life and experience joy.โ€

Of course, he will no doubt have plenty to say about Donald Trump, referred to in the special as a โ€œracist scrotum dipped in Cheeto dust,โ€ and whatever else comes to mind.

Tickets, starting at $49.50, go on sale Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Thereโ€™s a pre-sale starting Wednesday at 10 a.m.
