Maryland Home & Garden Show: March 8-10 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. See thousands of orchids and learn how to care for the rare flowers.
International Women’s Day: 5 p.m. at Topside: Toast the women who make life great at the top of the Hotel Revival. Wine specials all night.
Masarap Pop-Up: 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Fadensonnen. Chef Rey Eugenio serves up Filipino food at the beer garden and wine bar.
Hillbilly Gold Release: 6-9 p.m. at Checkerspot Brewing Company. The South Baltimore brewery debuts an early 20th century-style pilsner. At 7 p.m., Maureen O’Prey will discuss the history of the Bauernschmidt brewing family after whom the new beer is modeled.
Adam Rosenblatt: Reclaimed Timber: 6:30 p.m. at Creative Alliance. The resident artist performs a percussion piece from Michael Gordon composed for six pieces of wood.
“Mad Men” Television Writer and Producer Jonathan Abrahams: 7-9:30 p.m. at the Centre Theatre. The Hopkins alum and writer and producer behind other shows such as “Raising the Bar” and “Perception” discusses his career in television.
“Crimes of the Heart”: through March 24 at Vagabond Players Inc. The Pulitzer Prize-winning play follows three sisters from Mississippi who are all having a rough go of it.
Il Trittico: 7:30 p.m. at Miriam A. Friedberg Concert Hall. The trilogy from Giacomo Puccini is performed at Peabody Conservatory.
“Frankenstein”: Friday-Sunday at Cohesion Theatre. The company presents its final shows adapting the classic horror story to be told from the perspective of Frankenstein’s daughter, who wants to bring her dead father back to life. Our critic loved it.
Ami Brabson’s Phenomenal Women: Through Sunday at Baltimore Theatre Project. The actress known from “Homicide: Life on the Street” and “Law and Order” pays tribute to women who inspired her, including Ruby Dee, Phoebe Snow and Barbara Lee.
“Badlands”: 8 p.m. at the Parkway Theatre. The Johns Hopkins Film Society presents Terrence Malick’s 1973 classic about two young outlaws on a killing spree in South Dakota.
Soohan: 8 p.m. at The 8×10. The producer and local DJ James Nasty offer reinterpretations of dance and folk music from around the world.
Akua Allrich: 8 p.m. at Creative Alliance. The Baltimore musician pays tribute to Nina Simone and Miriam Makeba.
SRSQ: 8 p.m. at The Windup Space. Kennedy Ashlyn of Them Are Us Too performs with Curse and L’avenir.
Bmore Beat Club: 8 p.m. at Maryland Art Place. Emcees and DJs perform together for the first time, hosted by Eze Jackson and DJ MooseJaw.
Robyn v. Gaga Dance Party: 9 p.m. at Ottobar. The pop legends face off in dance night battle, and all attendees benefit.

#BmoreSecondHand Thrifting Tour: 10 a.m. at Tightfisted Fashion. The free event heads to five of the city’s boutiques and pop-ups.
Trash Wheel Dumpster Dive III: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Baltimore Community Toolbank. Healthy Harbor, Volunteering Untapped Baltimore and Baltimore Community ToolBank team up to document what’s being collected by Mr. Trash Wheel and his counterparts.
Divine Brunch: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Pen & Quill. To mark the release of Union Craft Brewing’s Divine-inspired IPA, the brewery and restaurant are teaming up for (what else?) a drag brunch. Scheduled to perform are Bambi Galore, Brie DeVine, Shaunda Leer, Iris Honeydew, Afrodite Wintour, Virya Shavasana and Nikki Coxx.
Canton Irish Stroll: 1 p.m. at O’Donnell Square. The annual pre-St. Patrick’s crawl brings fans out to eight bars with food, beads and more.
Jazz in the Stacks: 2-3 p.m. Enoch Pratt Free Library-Govans Branch. The Carl Grubbs Ensemble plays original tunes and some standards.
Annual Sommelier Competition: 5-7 p.m. at Bin 604. Thirty-two wine specialists turn out, with a chance for blind tasting as players have 10 minutes to determine what’s in a glass.
Taste of Maryland Dinner and Auction: 6:30 p.m. at American Visionary Art Museum. The night features samples of local food, wine, beer, rum and dancing. It benefits Our Daily Bread Employment Center.
Blythe Roberson: 7 p.m. at Bird In Hand. The writer and comedian discusses her book “How to Date Men When You Hate Men.”
Nothing: 8 p.m. at Windup Space. The indie band plays Station North following last year’s “Dance on the Blacktop.” Tony Molina, Candy and Post Pink open.
Viva Brasil! 8 p.m. at Creative Alliance. Highlandtown goes to Carnival for the 13th annual dance party with choro, samba and more.
Raindeer presents “Dreambeat 17” Album Release: 8 p.m. at Metro Gallery. The Baltimore band releases a new record with Outcalls and June Pastel opening.
Trillnatured presents: Available: 10 p.m. at The Crown. DJs Hoeteps and Nikilad join The Crown festivities, which has the monthly Version party in the opposite room.
Sunday, March 10
Return of The Looney Tunes Show: 10 a.m. at the Senator Theatre. The classic cartoons starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and all the classic characters return to the big screen.
64th Baltimore St. Patrick Parade: 2-5 p.m., steps off at Washington Monument. The parade to celebrate the Irish-themed holiday heads downtown. Just before, the Shamrock 5K kicks off at Charles and Mulberry streets.
The Thousand Things: 2-5 p.m. at Area 405. The final event coordinating with the art exhibition “Beyond Beautiful: One Thousand Love Letters” features music from percussionist Tom Goldstein and trombonist Patrick Crossland, spoken-word artist Fire Angelou and singer Simone Speed.
Poe House Presents: 2 p.m. at Poe House. Leo E. Ndelle reads from Poe’s poetry, and his own work.
“Reality Bites”: 2-5 p.m. at MAX Gallery. The opening reception pays tribute to abstraction in painting, with work from Dan Durrow, Robinson Munoz, Shaul Tsemach, Minas Konsolas and Michelle Spiziri.
Pröwess: 6 p.m. at Joe Squared. The rockers make a stop on the Lookin’ for a Bullet Tour, with guests Lazlo Lee and the Motherless Children, Atomic Motel and Top Dead Center.
Morbid Angel: 7 p.m. at Baltimore Soundstage. The long-running death metal band comes to town in support of 2017’s “Kingdoms Disdained.”
