Pride Weekend has arrived, kicking off three days of celebrating the LGBTQ+ community from Druid Hill Park to Station North. In Southeast Baltimore, it’s World Refugee Day, the Baltimore Wine Festival and a pair of pool parties. Check out the summer fun:
Friday, June 14
Pints in the Park: 5 p.m. at Center Plaza. The happy hour in downtown Baltimore features music from Joi Carter, booze from Boordy Vineyards and Union Craft Brewery, and food from Mama’s on the Halfshell.
South Point’s Pre-Opening Soiree: 6-11 p.m. at South Point. The outdoor space by the water in Port Covington has live music, DJs and lawn games.
Tarot & Tonics: 6-11 p.m. at Motor House. The Station North spot rings in the first night of Pride weekend with tarot readings, playlists by queer artists and drink specials.
Summer Sounds: 6 p.m. at Belvedere Square. The summer Friday event has music from Nelly’s Echo, and vendors, food, art for sale and more.
Twilight on the Terrace: 7 p.m. at Gertrude’s. The benefit for The Pride Center of Maryland kicks off the weekend at the Baltimore Museum of Art with food, fun and more.
Twilight Swim: 7 p.m. at Patterson Park Public Pool. The 21+ night offers a chance to chill by the pool at night, with coolers allowed.
Baker 10 Years of Excellence: 7-9 p.m. at Maryland Art Place. Close out a retrospective exhibit of the Baker Artist Awards with a performance from the Todd Marcus Jazz Orchestra.
Baltimore PRIDE Weekend Kickoff Happy Hour: 4-7 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Stable & Saloon. The event features food and drink specials, benefiting The Pride Center of Maryland.
Grown Up Field Trip: The Upside Down: 7 p.m. at Maryland Science Center. The “Stranger Things”-themed event features activities throughout the museum throwing back to childhood days.
Movie With Orchestra: West Side Story: 8 p.m. at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The BSO plays along with Bernstein and Sondheim’s classic, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the movie musical’s release.
“Pride and Joy: The Marvin Gaye Musical: Through June 16 at the Modell Lyric. The musical centers on the love story of Marvin Gaye and Anna Gordy Gaye.
“The Tale of Serse”: Through June 16 at Baltimore Theatre Project. Handel’s opera gets an update for contemporary times, with new narration driven by the poetry of Rumi.
“Welcome to Shakesville”: Through June 16 at Zion Church of the City of Baltimore. The Baltimore Rock Opera Society production offers “a groovy love letter to the ’60s filled with puppets, magic and rock ‘n’ roll.”
“Queens Girl in the World”: Through June 23 at Everyman Theatre. The play by Caleen Sinnette Jennings tells the story of Jacqueline Marie Butler, who in the 1950s starts classes at a predominantly Jewish private school in Greenwich Village.
“Queens Girl in Africa”: Through June 23 at Everyman Theatre. The second part of the story follows Jacqueline Marie Butler as she starts classes at an international high school in Nigeria.
Saturday, June 15
Sondheim Finalists Exhibition Opening: 10 a.m. at Walters Art Museum. The finalists for the Artscape prize begin a two-month run at the Mount Vernon museum.
The Great Cohesion Garage Sale: 10 a.m. at Cohesion Theatre Company. The Canton theatre company is leaving its space, and they’re selling clothing, props, production materials and a beast of London.
Juneteenth Reservoir Hill Home & Garden Tour: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Dovecote Cafe. The event offers a self-guided tour of 20 homes, plus the Dovecote Art Bazaar, Arabbers and historic games.
Juneteenth Bazaar: 12-4 p.m. at Idlewylde Community Hall. The event celebrates the city’s black-owned businesses, artists, and makers.
Baltimore Pride Parade and Block Party: From 1 p.m. until it ends. From Wyman Park to Mount Vernon, the big event celebrating Baltimore’s LGBTQ+ community features an 11-block parade, a block party in Station North, a pet parade and a high heel race. This year’s theme is Unity and Diversity: The Remix.
World Refugee Day: 12 p.m. at Creative Alliance. Celebrate immigrant and refugee communities in Baltimore with food, music and family activities.
Baltimore Wine Fest: 12-7 p.m. at Canton Waterfront Park. The fourth edition of the festival includes more than 160 wines, food trucks, chef cooking demos, live music and more.
Street Dreams Baltimore – Closing Reception: 5-8 p.m. at Atlas Fine Arts. Street art from 18 artists gets one last look on the gallery walls.
Baltimore Pride Women’s After Party: 8 p.m. at Flavor. DJ Rosie and DJ Heather play the official Pride after party, benefiting The Pride Center of Maryland.
Pride After Party at Motor House: 8 p.m. at Motor House. DJ Ducky Dynamo plays the Station North spot, also part of the post-Pride festivities.
Movies in the Park: 8 p.m. at Patterson Park. Head to Pagoda Hill for a screening of “A League of Their Own,” plus trivia and a costume contest.
Metro/Sexual X: 9 p.m. at Metro Gallery. Baby hosts a night of tease, filth and drag performers from around the DMV.
Earth: 9 p.m. at Ottobar. The long-running instrumental duo tour in support of their new album, “Full Upon Her Burning Lips.”
Flying Faders Record Release Party: 9 p.m. at the Ottobar’s Shrunken Head. The Baltimore surf rock band celebrates the release of “Tectonic Shifts,” with a show, tiki drinks, surf movies and more.
’80s Pool Party: 10 p.m. at Merritt Clubs Canton. The after-hours pool party gathers on the roof of the Southeast Baltimore fitness club.
Sunday, June 16:
Father’s Day BBQ at Chuck’s: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Chuck’s Trading Post. The Hampden restaurant is cooking up a feast of ribs and brisket in celebration of local dads.
Baltimore Pride Festival: 12 p.m.-on at Druid Hill Park. Head to the park for a main stage featuring a full afternoon of performances, family-friendly programming, a drag stage and food trucks, exhibitors and more.
Father’s Day “Pop-Up” Car Show: 12-5 p.m. at Fells Point Main Street. Check out some of the wildest wheels in town down by the water.
Women’s World Cup Watch: 12 p.m. at Diamondback Brewing. The Locust Point brewing hosts a watch party for the USWNT’s showdown with Chile.
Baltimore Jazz Fest: 1-7 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church. The outdoor event in the Abell neighborhood features a full afternoon of music, plus local food and libations, artists and more.
Brewed with Pride Party: 1-8 p.m. at Suspended Brewing Company. The Pigtown brewery hosts a LGBTQ+ celebration, benefitting FreeState Justice.
Screenings of PBS’ “Woodstock: Three Days That Defined A Generation”: 1:25 p.m., 4:05 p.m., 6:55 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. at The Charles Theater. Watch never-before-seen footage of the historic August 1969 music festival in this new documentary from PBS.
Annie Blech, Bubble Wand, Slender Tortoise, Glisper and Queeriod Bomb: 8 p.m. at True Vine. Crass Lips Records puts on a showcase of local artists, joined by Annie Blech of New York, at the Station North record shop.
