After being closed for 697 days, the cavernous basement bar at The Brewer’s Art in Mount Vernon has finally reopened, the brewpub announced Thursday on Instagram.
“Best news of the year,” one Instagram user commented.
“Lots of great memories there, many moons ago,” another said.

The brewpub – maker of Resurrection and Beazly – celebrated 25 years of business in September.
Over the years, the brewery has teamed up with organizations like the Maryland Zoo and the Baltimore Rock Opera Society to create specialty brews.
The owners opened a sister restaurant – The Brewer’s Art Tavern – in Highland off of Clarksville Pike in 2019.
The Brewer’s Art on Thursday also announced new hours.
The kitchen will be open until 10 p.m. every night, the upstairs bar will be open until 11 p.m., and the basement bar will be open until “at least 12,” the brewery said.
