You may think you know him as Roy Kent from “Ted Lasso,” but Brett Goldstein is much more than the gruff soccer player with a potty mouth, rock hard abs and a soft heart he plays on that show.
You can find out a lot more about who Goldstein is this fall because he’s touring North America with his stand-up comedy show, “The Second Best Night of Your Life,” coming to The Lyric in Baltimore on Oct 18.
The tour has been selling out venues and doing multiple night runs from 2023 to 2024, and Goldstein has decided to extend his tour into the fall with several shows around the United States, including the one at the Lyric.
Goldstein is described as “a breakthrough British creative force on and offscreen,” emerging as “one of Hollywood’s most sought-after multihyphenates,” according to the press release. He’s the creator and executive producer of “Shrinking” on Apple TV+ with Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence, a comedy which has recently wrapped production on its second season.
The aforementioned “Ted Lasso” is a record-breaking series on Apple TV+ in which he not only co-stars, but for which he is a co-executive producer and writer. Goldstein has won an Emmy for his performance as Roy Kent in this series.
He is set to star in a drama from Hungarian filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó, “At The Sea,” which will also star Amy Adams and Murray Bartlett. Goldstein also hosts an iHeartRadio award-winning podcast called “Films To Be Buried With,” which has him hosting special guests and having discussions about the films that have shaped them.
Tickets for “The Second Best Night of Your Life” will be available on presale this Wednesday, July 24 at 10 a.m. local, using the code: COMEDY.
Tickets for the general public will go on sale Friday, July 26 at 10 a.m. local time. You can purchase tickets at Ticketmaster or Brett Goldstein Tour Linktree website.
The show is for audiences 15 and over.
