The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) will feature works celebrating Interdisciplinary and visual art winners of the Baker Artist Awards. The exhibition will include 20 works by five recipients of the prestigious awards to be on view at the BMA from April 27 to July 27, 2025.

The featured artists whose works will be on display at the museum during the Baker Arts Awards exhibition are Selin Balci (interdisciplinary, 2019); Kelley Bell (interdisciplinary, 2024); Oletha DeVane (interdisciplinary, 2023); Jordan Tierney (visual arts, 2023); and Stephen Towns (visual arts, 2024).

โ€œThe Baker Artist Awards exhibition demonstrates the extraordinary visual and interdisciplinary artists in Baltimoreโ€™s unparalleled creative community,โ€ said Asma Naeem, the BMAโ€™s Dorothy Wagner Wallis Director. โ€œThe BMA is delighted to partner with the William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund and the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance in recognizing and celebrating the remarkably talented artists in our region.โ€

The BMA will host two events in conjunction with the exhibition. The first is on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the museum. The Baker Artist Awards Celebration honors the artists whose works are on display, and attendees will have the opportunity to meet them. There will also be presentations from Baker Artist awardees, late-night access to the galleries, free hors dโ€™oeuvres, a cash bar, and a live DJ set by Pangelica at this free event. The second event is Baker Artist Awards Live: An Afternoon of Artistic Excellence, on Saturday, May 3 at 2 p.m. This is presented by Contemporary Arts, Inc, and emceed by Kristin Putchinski (interdisciplinary, 2011 & 2021) with performances, music, and films from a lively roster of previous awardees, including Judah Adashi (music, 2024); Ruby Fulton (music, 2013); Margaret Rorison (film/video, 2018 & 2023); Bashi Rose (interdisciplinary, 2011), and more. This is a ticketed event.
