After a rainy week, Baltimore appears to be getting some relief this weekend. And right on time, too, as the city will celebrate events like AFRAM Festival and a community party at St. Mary’s Park.
Also happening are a variety of Juneteenth events, music performances, and more.

Lewis Museum Jubilee, Thursday, June 19, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Reginald F. Lewis Museum. The Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture turns 20 years old this year. Josh Gates Live!, Friday, June 20, doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m., Lyric Baltimore. If you love Josh Gates’ series on Discovery Channel, including “Expedition Unknown” and “Josh Gates Tonight,” here’s your chance to see him live. The explorer, talk show host, and author is coming to Baltimore for “An Evening of Legends, Mysteries, and Tales of Adventure.”
AFRAM Festival, Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, Druid Hill Park. The city’s official Juneteenth celebration, AFRAM is one of the largest African-American cultural arts events on the East Coast. NOTE: This event has been postponed until Saturday, July 19. Harbor Splash, Saturday, June 21, 9 a.m., Bond Street Wharf in Fells Point. Registration for this year’s Harbor Splash is closed, but you can still cheer on swimmers from on land and celebrate the swimmability of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The Town Fair, Saturday, June 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Perry Hall High School. Support local five to 17-year-old entrepreneurs at the Children’s Entrepreneur Market, and enjoy a day of shopping, food, live music, and family-friendly activities.
AfroFutro: A Journey to the Golden Cloud Nebula, Saturday, June 21, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., The Walters Art Museum. In honor of Juneteenth, Scott Patterson and Afro House’s Astronaut Symphony will fill the Walters’ Auditorium with a cosmic soundscape that explores love, liberation, and the ways in which we navigate our relationship to our planet, our solar system, and beyond.
Babymetal, Saturday, June 21, 7 p.m., Pier Six Pavilion. Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal will perform at Baltimore’s Pier Six Pavilion. The lineup will also include Black Veil Brides and Bloodywood.
BSO Piano Recital, Saturday, June 21, 7:30 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. In this free piano recital, 15 BSO Academy participants will perform solo pieces with BSO pianist-in-residence Lura Johnson.
Pride Outside Hike & Campfire, Sunday, June 22, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Irvine Nature Center. This naturalist-led evening will include a hike and a campfire social (with S’MORES!) and the opportunity for LGBTQIA+ individuals, families, and groups of friends to explore the outdoors, build connections, and experience the many benefits of nature and community. All ages welcome.
Party in the Park, Sunday, June 22, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., St. Mary’s Park. After a Bike Party ride through Baltimore, party it up at St. Mary’s Park with bluegrass music by Cherry Blossom Special, DJ Deezy spinning tunes, lawn games and more.
Big3, Sunday, Sunday, June 22, doors open at 12 p.m., event begins at 1 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Root on your favorite players in this 3-on-3 basketball game. Hip-hop musician and actor Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz founded the Big3 league, comprising former NBA players and international players.
