Bodega & Vino has opened at 1121 Hull St. in Locust Point. The concept from Angela and Rob Wainwright is a small grocery store, cafe, and wine bar. The restaurant space was most recently Serenity Wine Cafe.
Bodega & Vino has been in a soft opening the last couple of weeks, but will host its grand opening on Friday with the debut of its food menu and fully-stocked shelves.
Angela Wainwright grew up in a Puerto Rican family in the Bronx, and the small grocery stores known as bodegas were a big part of her upbringing. She has 15 years of restaurant management experience and has been hoping to open a concept like this for many years. When Rob Wainwright, an Air Force veteran, was laid off from a software job two years ago, they decided it was the right time to make this dream a reality.
