Tennessee native Bo Patten will serve as the next chief executive officer of Maryland REALTORS. He will start in his new role July 1.

Patten most recently served as CEO of the Williamson County Association of REALTORS, located just south of Nashville.

“I am incredibly excited to join the team at Maryland REALTORS®! They have built an outstanding culture and organization that I am honored to now be a part of,” Patten said in a statement. “While leaving Tennessee is certainly bittersweet, the opportunity to serve alongside Maryland’s exceptional volunteer leaders, dedicated members, and talented staff was one I could not pass up. Together, we are ready to build on that success to ensure Maryland REALTORS® remains THE voice of real estate across the state.”

Patten’s appointment comes during a tight real estate market in Maryland, like much of the country. With fewer homes available to purchase – and prices rising for the properties that are on the market – buyers are facing considerable difficulty finding a home.

Despite those challenges, Patten expressed confidence in efforts to make housing more available and affordable in Maryland.

“I am eager to begin working alongside our members, leadership, and staff as we continue leading the charge to advance attainable and equitable housing opportunities for everyone who wants to call Maryland home,” he said.

Previously, Patten was Vice President of Government Affairs for the Long Island Board of REALTORS in New York, one of the nation’s largest local REALTOR associations. He was also a licensed REALTOR earlier in his career, during which time he witnessed firsthand the challenges within the real estate industry.

Patten was selected following a national search for a successor to Chuck Kasky, who is retiring after 21 years serving Maryland REALTORS, including the past 11 years as the association’s CEO. Kasky also founded the association’s legal department, which he led for a decade.

“Chuck’s leadership helped transform Maryland REALTORS® into one of the most respected and forward-thinking state REALTOR® associations in the country,” said Denise Lewis, 2026 President of Maryland REALTORS®, in a statement. “As we look forward to the future, we are excited to welcome Bo Patten as our next CEO. His strong background in association leadership, government affairs, and member advocacy made him the clear choice to lead Maryland REALTORS® into its next chapter.”
