Want to make your dollar holler? Goodwill is coming to Reisterstown Road Plaza.
Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake will have a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newest Baltimore City location, called the Plaza Retail Store & Donation Center, on July 23 at 10 a.m.
Located at 6516 Reisterstown Road, the store will join Goodwill retail operations at 3101 Greenmount Ave. in Waverly; 715 S. Broadway in Fells Point and 6999 Reisterstown Road in Pikesville. Additional Baltimore area stores are in Eastpoint; Towson; Perry Hall; Kenwood; Catonsville; Glen Burnie; Padonia; Columbia; Ellicott City and Owings Mills.
Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake has its headquarters at 3700 Koppers Street and an attended donation center at 98 Shawan Road in Cockeysville.
“Every purchase made at Goodwill helps fund workforce training, career services, reentry programs, and the Baltimore Excel Center, the organization’s tuition-free adult high school” at 222 E. Redwood St., said Goodwill representative Jen Reed, in an email message. “As more consumers embrace thrift shopping, they’re also helping create jobs and educational opportunities for thousands of Maryland residents.”
Among the Plaza store’s first employees, Reed said, will be Jenise Martin, a 2024 graduate of the Baltimore Excel Center. Martin has been hired as the store’s Lead Production Associate, “bringing her Goodwill journey full circle from student to employee,” Reed said.
Attending the ribbon-cutting event will be Lisa Rusyniak, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake; Martin and other community leaders. Remarks will begin around 9:45 a.m. so the thrifting can begin.
