Johns Hopkins University

This year, 24,717 hopeful high school seniors sent in applications to Johns Hopkins to become part of the Class of 2019. And only 3,065 got the good news they wanted to hear.

Once again, it was another record-breaking year over at Johns Hopkins Universityโ€™s admissions department. The growing popularity of the school is a sign that the universityโ€™s plan to focus more on undergrads is clearly working.

These are some seriously smart  kids. Their average GPA is 3.92 and their average SAT scores are between 1430-1560. Theyโ€™re also are a diverse groupโ€“admitted students hail from all 50 states as well as 62 different countries. Just a smidge more than half (51 percent) are women. And a third self-identify as members of underrepresented minority groups.

The top countries represented by foreign students are Canada, China, South Korea, India, United Kingdom and Turkey.  Students have until May 1 to accept their offers.
