After a fall of scandal and suspension, thereโs a couple of signs that the ship of Baltimore sports is righting itself with the beginning of spring. While some, like Ray Rice, may have pulled up roots, two of the townโs beloved stars are making returns to action with the new season.
On Monday, Michael Phelps got the green light to get back in the pool for competition. While the swimming star showed plenty of remorse for his October DUI near the Fort McHenry Tunnel in court earlier this year, he was clearly excited about getting back in the pool on Twitter. Phelps is planning to make his official return splash next week at a meet in Mesa, Arizona. The Baltimore Bullet still has to sit out the World Championships this summer, but weโll take the enthusiasm as a sign that heโs serious about the 2016 Olympics.
My suspension is finally up! Time to get back in the pool and race again! Looking forward to #mesa !!

Meanwhile, Oโs fans were happy enough to see the Orioles return to action on Monday, and resume their winning ways with a 6-2 dismantling of the Tampa Bay Rays. Camden Yards doesnโt open until Friday, but the Orioles get another perk today when slugger Chris Davis rejoins the lineup after his suspension for Adderall use. Weโll go ahead and say Adam Jones is reflecting the mood of the entire fanbase at news of this development:
