
Spring is officially here. That means Maryland Day is upon us, and Easter is right around the corner. That means our first egg hunt is on the calendar. Elsewhere this week on the virtual lineup, check out the work of regional playwrights and artists, and a full day of genealogy.
LOVE/language: March 26-29, virtual. Howard Community College’s Rep Theatre presents monologues from 10 playwrights from the region exploring love in a time of isolation and unrest.
Maryland History Weekend: March 25-28 at the B&O Railroad Museum. Festivities surrounding Maryland Day (today, March 25) include history tours and evening train rides. Features daytime and evening hours.
Hot Club of Baltimore: 7 p.m. on Friday, March 26, virtual. An Die Musik Live presents a streaming concert featuring the jazz combo performing waltzes from Angelo Debarre, Matelo Ferré, and Tchan Tchou Vidal, as well as swing from Django Reinhardt.
Sci-Fi Friday: 7 p.m. on Friday, March 26, virtual. The Maryland Science Center screens the 1958 classic “The Blob.” Join for a science activity inspired by the film, and a themed drink.
2021 Annual Genealogy Lecture Series: 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, virtual. Enoch Pratt Free Library presents genealogist and immigration researcher Rich Venezia presents a series of talks on topics including ship manifests, discovering immigrant origins and citizenship laws and records. Registration required.
Spring Hop-A-Long: 1-3 p.m. at Northwest Regional Park, Owings Mills. The Baltimore County Rec and Parks event features a drive through egg hunt, displays and a socially distanced photo session with the Bunny.
32nd National Drawing & Print Exhibition: 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, virtual. The annual event hosted by Notre Dame of Maryland University gets underway with a virtual reception and talk with jurors and artists. Running through April 23, the competition features the work of 20 artists.
Bill Warfield & The Hell’s Kitchen Funk Orchestra: 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, virtual. The streaming concert from Keystone Korner features a group of New York jazz and session musicians celebrating the release of their new album, “Smile.”
How To Be Anti-Racist Workshop: Part Two: 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, virtual. Activist and speaker Brittany Oliver facilitates a workshop centered on ant-racist education. Registration required for the Enoch Pratt Free Library event.
A Virtual Reading of SQUEAKY by Jeff Cohen: 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, virtual. The reading features a new play by Jeff Cohen. The autobiographical comedy centers on Cohen’s father, and takes place in Baltimore settings like Mondawmin Mall, Attman’s Kibbitz Room and Lexington Market.
