Since it involves heading outside and perhaps even looking up from a screen long enough to talk to another person, it’s only fitting that Pokemon Go has also made its way into our local events calendar for the weekend. Here’s a trio of organized places to play this weekend:
Maryland Zoo The Druid Hill Park animal emporium is doubling as a Pokemon Go gathering point. On Friday and Saturday, the zoo’s Pokemon Mornings run from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. They have lures activated in the app, which allows for more catching of the ’em all variety. Zoo admission is required.
Inner Harbor The Waterfront Partnership is also activating lures for the Inner Harbor area during the latest installment of its Summer Social series on Friday, July 15. Lures are set to go off every 30 minutes in West Shore Park, and the Maryland Science Center is also a Pokegym.
While You’re Drinking in Canton and Fells Point Baltimore-based startup Loople Mobile is looking to help you find some drink specials and catch Pokemon. They’ll start at 1 p.m. Saturday at Southern Provisions, and meander to Fells Point. There’s no official route, meaning they’ll go where the game (or the beer) takes them. After party is at Dogwatch Tavern.
Or if you just want someone to drive you around while you play, there’s always the guy offering to be a Pokemon chauffer on Craigslist. Don’t worry, they drive at the speed of egg incubation.
