A Baltimore County hair salon is cutting it short and closing after nearly four decades in business.
The Catonsville Hair Company will shut its doors after its final day of business on Sept. 5.
“It has been a privilege and honor to serve this community over the past 38 years,” owners Glenn and Cindee Boller wrote in a Facebook post. “We are deeply grateful to every customer, employee, partner and neighbor who supported us along this journey. Your loyalty, encouragement, and friendship made our business more than just a place to work – it became part of a community we were proud to call home.”
The Catonsville salon first opened in 1988 in a small storefront on Frederick Road, before later moving across the street to their current location at 620 Frederick Road.
The Bollers said the decision to close the business was a difficult one, but that they will remember the community members who supported them over the years.
“Although this chapter is ending, the memories and relationships we have built will remain with us,” they wrote. “Thank you for trusting us, celebrating milestones with us, recommending us to others, and allowing us to serve you.”
They added, “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of our journey. We will always be grateful for the support and wish you and the entire community continued happiness and success.”
In the comments, customers wished the business owners well and thanked them for all the haircuts they received.
“It has been a joy and privilege to have you cut our family’s hair these many years. See you around the’Ville!” wrote Jay Olin.
“Wow! A lot of memories there! Starting with the tiny shop across the street and your brother Dale!” wrote Amy Horvitz.
“Happy retirement. After a long and successful career helping people be beautiful it’s time to relax,” wrote Susan Stonesifer Flanagan.
