A total of 2,219,257 Marylanders, or nearly 36% of the state’s population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, state data showed on Friday.
Of the two-dose vaccines, Maryland has administered a total of 2,828,179 first doses and 2,023,236 second doses.
In the past 24 hours, providers have administered 18,129 first doses and 30,921 second doses.
Maryland providers have also administered single-dose vaccines to a total of 196,021 people, including 2,187 doses that were reported in the past 24 hours.
At least 452,035 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 3,374,543 have tested negative as of Friday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
Maryland’s coronavirus caseload grew by 768 new cases, an increase of 0.17%.
A total of 8,642 Marylanders have died from COVID-19, with 11 additional deaths reported since Thursday. There are also 191 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.
The state has completed 9,874,331 coronavirus tests to date, with 41,430 test results reported in the past 24 hours.
On average, 3.53% of the state’s COVID-19 tests over the last seven days came back positive.
The seven-day average rate of positive tests yesterday was 3.95% for Marylanders younger than 35 and 3.18% for Marylanders older than 35.
Of the state’s total number of confirmed cases, 41,999 people who tested positive for COVID-19 were hospitalized at some point, including 859 who are currently hospitalized.
Of those currently hospitalized, 640 are in acute care and 219 are in intensive care.
The number of acute care patients fell by 23 while the number of intensive care patients declined by 19, marking a net decrease of 42 fewer people hospitalized with coronavirus compared to Thursday.
As of 10 a.m. Friday, there have been 83,714 confirmed cases in Prince George’s County; 70,154 in Montgomery County; 64,325 in Baltimore County; 51,743 in Baltimore City; 42,956 in Anne Arundel County; 19,540 in Frederick County; 19,010 in Howard County; 16,245 in Harford County; 14,321 in Washington County; 10,642 in Charles County; 9,246 in Carroll County; 7,517 in Wicomico County; 6,884 in Allegany County; 6,141 in Cecil County; 5,901 in St. Mary’s County; 4,175 in Calvert County; 3,593 in Worcester County; 2,949 in Queen Anne’s County; 2,736 in Dorchester County; 2,548 in Somerset County; 2,275 in Caroline County; 2,099 in Talbot County; 1,996 in Garrett County; and 1,325 in Kent County, according to the dashboard.
Maryland has confirmed 25,083 cases in people age 9 or younger; 46,247 in people ages 10-19; 82,973 in people ages 20-29; 77,404 in people ages 30-39; 67,514 in people ages 40-49; 67,470 in people ages 50-59; 44,935 in people ages 60-69; 24,694 in people ages 70-79; and 15,715 in people age 80 or older.
The state has identified 236,350 of the confirmed COVID-19 patients as female and 215,685 as male.
Of the Marylanders who have tested positive for COVID-19, 139,022 are Black, 10,937 are Asian, 159,518 are white, 68,554 are Hispanic, 21,109 are another race, and data is not available for the remaining 52,895.
Nationwide, there have been at least 32,606,724 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, including at least 580,076 deaths. The U.S. has conducted more than 441.2 million coronavirus tests to date as of 10 a.m. Friday, according to a real-time dashboard created by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering.
