The wonderful thing about living in a city like Baltimore with such a blossoming arts scene is the vast array of mediums in such a close proximity. Every weekend is a struggle to choose which ones get a coveted slot on the iPhone calendar. This Saturday, Sept. 15, do yourself a favor and head on over to Station North for Akimbo, an annual festival that showcases Baltimore’s professional dance companies and movement artists. We’ll be swinging by, somewhere between the Copy Cat building and Joe Squared!

This first annual site-specific event guides audiences throughout the Station North district to view and participate in unique site-specific performances and installations.
AKIMBO features artists from traditional to experimental, plus musicians and visual artists. That’s OVER 60 individual artists and performers presenting original work all in one day!
The journey includes businesses on North Avenue and Charles, a dance parade down East Lanvale, on a winding path through Cork Factory, and over to Area 405 and Gallery City Arts. The fun begins at 2:00 p.m.
