Getting a job in retail from Thanksgiving through the end of the year is an age-old holiday tradition. But this year one of the biggest employers isn’t in the mall.
Amazon is set to hire thousands of seasonal workers nationwide for the holiday rush. That includes Maryland. The company has a big fulfillment center in Baltimore, as well as Rockville. Between the two locations, they’re planning to hire 3,000 workers. So remember when you receive your present: It took a lot of hands to deliver it quickly.
They’re very excited to be very busy.
“This is our favorite time of year—we love serving customers during the busy holiday season and we’re excited to bring on more than 120,000 seasonal employees this year to support growing customer demand,” Mike Roth, Amazon Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment, said in a statement.
