Amazon Fulfillment Center

Looking for some extra cash this holiday season? Amazon is filling positions at its fulfillment center on the spot today and next week in the Inner Harbor.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., those who show up at the Pier 5 Hotel by the National Aquarium can apply in-person to work at the company’s Southeast Baltimore warehouse in the old GM plant. Amazon already had two hiring events at the hotel this week, but will be there again today and on Monday, Nov. 7, and Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The company announced a couple weeks ago that it was looking to fill some 3,000 positions at its two facilities in Baltimore and Rockville.

The part-time seasonal gig pays $12.50 an hour, while the full-time one pays $13.00 an hour. To get an offer, you’ll need to be at least 18, have a high school diploma, be fluent in English (you’re well on your way if you’re reading this) and be capable of lifting up to 49 pounds. Positions are overtime-eligible, and you may also get to experience the thrill of operating a forklift or cherry-picker.

ABC2 reports the company is looking to fill 1,900 jobs this holiday season, so that gives you pretty good odds if you’re looking for some extra work. They’ve made similar mass hiring efforts here in the past.
