Online retail behemoth Amazon had promised to hire 1,000 Baltimoreans to work full-time at its new fulfillment center in Southeast Baltimore. But the company announced Thursday that the real number is more like 2,500, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Apparently, Baltimore isnโt the only Amazon location that has seen an influx of new employees. The Sun reports that the company has been hiring like crazy. In the past year it has increased its overall workforce by 38 percent.
It really shouldnโt be a surprise that business is booming for the online store where almost everyone buys almost everything.
