Microsoft has had their own specialty stores since 2009, but the one opening at the Mall in Columbia on June 12 will be their first Maryland location. This whole store thing sure makes Microsoft seem a lot more Apple-y than I normal give them credit for. In addition to conventional computers they’ve got their own phones and tablets. And of course, they’ve got the Xbox.
To celebrate the opening, the Microsoft Specialty Store will be offering its 64-GB Surface tablet (normally $299) for $199, while supplies last. It’s no year’s supply of chicken sandwiches. Still, it’s something.
