This weekend marks the Sixth Art for Land’s Sake, a biannual art show and sale held to benefit the Valley’s Planning Council, a 50 year old preservation organization. More than 300 works of art will be for sale during the two-day event.
Art for Land’s Sake is held at different venues every other year and this year’s show and sale is at the Party Barn at Caves Farm, a 600-acre equestrian farm which has been preserved with the help of the Valleys Planning Council.
This year’s Art for Land’s Sake is featuring Art for the New Collector. These selected pieces come with a lower price point so cost is not a barrier to acquisition. Many of the artists will be at the show throughout the weekend and are happy to answer questions about their subjects and techniques.
Also new this year is a selection of art from Maryland Artists of the Past who painted early last century and whose works still remain relevant and important. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire works by artists who helped make Maryland such a significant part of the art world.
