Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts (BOPA) has compiled a comprehensive list of opportunities, funding, job listings, and resources for the Cityโ€™s community of artists.

The BOPA Artist Connection page has information and links to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), applications for exhibitions, grants, competitions, performances, and vending opportunities, some of which have rolling deadlines, and others which have hard deadlines coming up soon.

Several of the opportunities with deadlines approaching at the end of May and the beginning of June include the following:

HOWARD COUNTY YOUTH POET LAUREATE
Deadline: May 30, 2024
$500 honorarium

Howard County Youth Poet Laureate is an honorary one-year position appointed by the County Executive. They will be an ambassador for literacy, the arts, and youth expression. This young person should have a passion for poetry and its ability to connect us. The Youth Poet Laureate serves from August 2024 through June 2025, receiving an honorarium of $500 paid in two equal installments. Deadline for application is May 30, 2024. Click this link to apply.

ENOCH PRATT FREE LIBRARY ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE (AiR)
Deadline: May 31, 2024
$30,000 stipend

The AiR program is an opportunity for a visual artist to work as an independent contractor to either develop a new body of artwork or continue to develop projects already in existence. The program also aims to โ€œenhance the artistic and cultural life o f Maryland by connecting established and emerging artists with Library resources and tools, creating meaningful connections with Library patrons, and contributing unique perspectives to our ever-evolving and growing community,โ€ according to the website. The AiR is expected to spend at least 10 hours per week creating their art in the provided Artist Studio. Artists must be 21 years old or older to apply. Deadline for application is May 31, 2024. MURAL ARTIST, CALVERT COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS
Deadline: May 31, 2024
$3,000 budget

The Calvert County Arts Council is accepting submissions for an outdoor mural at the Calvert County Fairgrounds. The mural would act as a welcome to visitors, and a photo op. The $3,000 budget covers artistโ€™s fees, materials, fabrication, installation, and travel. Additionally, three finalists will be paid a $200 stipend to produce a rendering for the final round of consideration. Final project must be completed by September 15, 2024. 9th ANNUAL ANIMAL KINGDOM ART COMPETITION
Deadline: June 1, 2024
Cash Prize (unspecified)
Entry fee: $25 for 1-2 images, $40 for up to 5 images

Fusion Art invites both 2D and 3D artists to submit their best art and photography depicting both domestic and wild animals for an online exhibition to run throughout the month of June 2024. The animals can live on land, sea, or in the air. All artists, regardless of location or experience, are invited to submit their work. Deadline to enter is June 1, 2024. JAZZ ROAD TOURS
Deadline: June 1, 2024
$15,000 grant

Jazz Road Tours invites artists to take their music to places itโ€™s never been, with grants of up to $15,000. Small three- to six-site tours at venues across the country support artists playing in a variety of venue types, often in rural communities and other areas not often served by the genre. South Arts has added $2,500 for childcare as an eligible expense that can be requested as part of the non-musician personnel expenses. In addition to bringing music to a diverse group of communities, the program prioritizes giving artists business. Development tools rooted in equitable pay and artist-centric programming. MCCOLL CENTER ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

Artists are invited to apply for this Winter/Spring residency in Charlotte, NC at McColl Center. The Artists-in-Residence receive private housing adjacent to McColl Center, a large private studio in their historic building in Charlotte, curatorial guidance, marketing and PR support, and a stipend they describe as โ€œgenerous.โ€ AiR also have access to McColl Centerโ€™s โ€œIgnitersโ€ community and the local creative sector. ARTIST TRAVEL PRIZE
Deadline: June 3, 2024
$7,000 prize

BOPA and the Municipal Art Society of Baltimore City (MASB) announced the eighth edition of this travel prize. Artists must live in Baltimore City during time of application and during entire granting period. They also must be over 21 years old and may not be full-time students. Funds are intended only for travel expenses. The aim is to enable artists to travel to their chosen destination to further and elevate their work through travel and observation. In addition to these opportunities, there is a free virtual workshop for students on writing through grief on June 4, 2024; the chance to perform or vend at Artscape (apply by June 9, 2024); the Folk and Traditional Arts Community Projects grants supporting the vitality of traditional arts and cultures in the mid-Atlantic region (apply by June 10, 2024); an RFQ for a 570-square-foot indoor mural to be created at 4MLK at 4 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. 4MLK is described as โ€œan ecosystem of research, talent and connection (apply by June 21, 2024); and many more on the BOPA Artist Connection webpage.
