Skateland patrons gathered Sunday to skate their final laps around the Overlea roller rink as it prepared to shut down after 48 years of business.

Maggie Jones is a photojournalist from Baltimore, Maryland, and was Baltimore Fishbowl's summer 2024 photojournalism intern. She studied Electronic Media and Film at Towson University, where she focused on documentary filmmaking. She was also a staff photographer at The Towerlight, where she covered a variety of topics ranging from sports to campus life. Maggie is passionate about representing her hometown of Baltimore through her photojournalism work and hopes to bring untold stories to light.
