Whenever I read a headline about some national magazine putting one of our local bars on its “best in America” list, I always assume they’re talking about Brewer’s Art. After all, the brewery/bar was named the best bar in America (!) by Esquire not so long ago. But this year, Esquire decided to honor a different Baltimore bar for once.

Rye, in Fells Point, is one of Esquire’s “Best Bars in America” for 2014. The magazine recommends a Diamondback No. 5, a drink that was also recently recommended in Garden & Gun magazine as well. What do you think, readers? Is Rye poised to supplant Brewer’s Art as Baltimore’s most renowned bar?

One reply on “Baltimore Bar Named One of the Best in America — And It’s Not the One You Think”

  1. I love you Brewers but yes, Rye deserves this nod. If you want a great beer and a whiskey Brewers is rocks. However Rye has wonderful cocktails and is a huge part of changing the drinking scene in Baltimore.
