Beach House’s new album, Once Twice Melody, is No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart this week.
The Baltimore-based duo’s new double LP – released Feb. 18 – sold 20,300 copies in its first week, Billboard reported.
Once Twice Melody, the band’s eighth album, is the first that vocalist and keyboardist Victoria Legrand and guitarist Alex Scally produced on their own. The 18-track album rolled out in four “chapters,” with a new drop each month starting in November.
Since their start in the mid-2000s, the shoegaze duo has become one of the most influential indie rock bands in recent years. “Space Song,” featured on their 2015 album Depression Cherry, has over 355 million streams on Spotify.
The pair is currently on tour to promote the new album.
