Baltimore County voters have an opportunity this week to hear from candidates running for county executive.

The League of Women Voters of Baltimore County and Goucher College are hosting a Baltimore County Executive Candidates Forum on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Goucher College’s Athenaeum-Hyman Forum, located at 1021 Dulaney Valley Road in Towson.

Ramona Johnson, President of the League of Women Voters of Baltimore County, stated,

“At a time when informed participation is more important than ever, this forum puts voters front and center,” said league president Ramona Johnson in a statement. “A key goal for the League is to ensure that voters in  Baltimore County can hear from the candidates, ask thoughtful questions, and head into the June primary confident and informed.”

The event will feature candidates who will appear on voters’ primary election ballot this June, including Democrats Julian Jones, Izzy Patoka, Mansoor Shams, Nick Stewart and Pat Young, as well as Republicans Patrick V. Dyer and Kimberley Stansbury.

Rob Daniels, an unaffiliated candidate for Baltimore County Executive, will be on general election ballots only, and therefore will not be part of Thursday’s forum.

“Goucher College is proud to be a private, independent, non-partisan, non-profit institution where honest debate and discussion of the issues of the day from a diversity of viewpoints are welcomed on our campus,” Goucher College President Kent Devereaux said in a statement. “We appreciate the opportunity to serve as a resource for Towson and the surrounding communities of Baltimore County, and are pleased to co-sponsor this event with the League of Women Voters of Baltimore County.”

The forum is free to attend, but members of the public are asked to register by visiting www.lwvbaltimorecounty.org or by calling 410-377-8046.
