Duckpin bowling near Patterson Park is about to get an upgrade.

According to Baltimore Business Journal, Patterson Bowling Center is in line for a big renovation project in the coming year. The Eastern Ave. alleys will get lots of mechanical work, lane upgrades and bumpers for kids. Plus, theyโ€™re adding new lights to allow for glow-in-the-dark bowling, and a music system. Rockโ€™n Bowl, duckpin edition? Yes, please.

The bowling alley offered duckpin bowling for 80 years. New owner Ken Staub, who also owns lanes in Stoneleigh and Towson, is looking to make it a more modern experience. But at least one element is going back to the way it used to be. Electronic scoring machines were removed, so youโ€™ll have to learn to keep score on your own.
