Duckpin bowling near Patterson Park is about to get an upgrade.
According to Baltimore Business Journal, Patterson Bowling Center is in line for a big renovation project in the coming year. The Eastern Ave. alleys will get lots of mechanical work, lane upgrades and bumpers for kids. Plus, they’re adding new lights to allow for glow-in-the-dark bowling, and a music system. Rock’n Bowl, duckpin edition? Yes, please.
The bowling alley offered duckpin bowling for 80 years. New owner Ken Staub, who also owns lanes in Stoneleigh and Towson, is looking to make it a more modern experience. But at least one element is going back to the way it used to be. Electronic scoring machines were removed, so you’ll have to learn to keep score on your own.
