Get Up & Go: The Holiday Season is ON!

There’s no denying it now. It’s full-speed-ahead-holiday-cheer from here ’til New Years. Time to do some last-minute edits to your personal naughty & nice lists and then get to checking names off the list. Of course, we believe that holiday shopping should fill us with cheer while we do it– so here are some awesome ideas of ways to spend your weekend (and week) and soak up the most holiday spirit while you’re at it.

There are about a zillion ways to embrace Small Business Saturday, but you can’t do much better than Federal Hill, where deals even include a a “Pick Your Own Discount” event at Brightside Boutique & Art Studio.

And don’t miss Federal Hill’s Winter Block Party on Tuesday from 5pm-8pm. It’s an event for Giving Tuesday– so funds raised will go the the National Federation for the Blind. Nothing like giving to keep the holiday spirit going.

If you’re looking to burn off some of that turkey and pie and commit to a fit holiday season, Baltimore Yoga Village has more than one really exciting workshop this coming week. You can go deep into partner acro-yoga, or get down to some old time music at Old Time Yoga– complete with live guitar and banjo.

Equally old-fashioned are the Boxwood Wreath Workshops offered at the Cylburn Arboretum. Registration is required, and you’ll go home with a lovely holiday wreath for your door or hearth.

And finally, you simply must take a stroll down 34th St in Hampden as the block lights up the neighborhood for the season. Let them know you’re glad they didn’t cancel, and that the citizens of Baltimore appreciate all they do to bring us holiday cheer.
