Get Up & Go: Make this Weekend Your Merriest
Sure, there are plenty of us who’ve already checked most people off of our holiday shopping list. But for the rest of us– the more human of us– we’re still, um, working on it. But luckily, this weekend is packed with shopping events, sales, and genuinely fun holiday activities to help you get all your shopping (and merry-making) in with plenty of time to get it all wrapped and under a tree, with time to spare for a cup of eggnog.
If you haven’t yet hit up the MICA Art Market, make that stop #1 thus weekend. Today is the last day to find some of the most unique gifts (for yourself and others) at the art school’s annual holiday craft fair.
For equally indie fare, or for those on your list with a real flair for the artistic, Current Space is showing the (totally giftable) work of ten local artists today and tomorrow.
If you’re desperate for the handmade, but can’t make this weekend work, save this coming Thursday, (December 18th) for the Charm City Craft Mafia’s Last Stop Hops-N-Shop. It’s pretty much what it sounds like, awesome last-minute craft shopping, accompanied by some brews.
Of course, if you’re one of those who can take the weekend off from shopping, since you somehow managed to not procrastinate, why not reward yourself with a relaxing afternoon of Romancing in the Holidays at Galloping Goose Vineyards for a small plate buffet with wine pairings.
Or, stay right in town and keep warm with some specialty seasonal hot chocolate from The Charmery. If you can manage to get it home without drinking it, throw in a splash of locally distilled Sloop Betty vodka and settle in for a quiet evening of gift wrapping.
