Is it the luck of the Irish that has finally brought the melting of the snow? We don’t doubt it. This city is overrun with ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this weekend. So whether you’re going for all-you-can-drink green beer, or a wholesome evening of lively traditional music, surely there’s an offering that suits your style.
If you’re rolling out of bed kind of late on Sunday, you can still catch the Baltimore Irish Parade, which kicks off at 2pm. “The jewel in Maryland’s emerald crown,” it’s been going strong in our city for over 50 years.
Prefer to work up a sweat before the revelry? The Shamrock 5K offers a way to burn off some of that corned beef and cabbage before you sink in for some rigorous parade watching.
Even earlier than that you can head down to the waterfront for the 4th Annual Shamrock Shindig— perfect for kids and adults alike.
Robert E. Lee Park is also hosting an event today and tomorrow to help kids learn about local types of snakes- as a way of honoring St.Patrick’s legendary feat of getting the snakes out of Ireland.
And of course, Gordon Biersch Brewery and Restaurant will be pouring all manner of holiday-appropriate libations on the big day. Green beer, Irish car bombs, Irish coffee, and more.
