A Baltimore food truck owner is opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Pigtown.

Eleni Markatos, who has run her Taste food truck since 2022, now has a permanent location at 801 Washington Blvd.

The Taste restaurant is currently in its soft opening phase and plans to hold a grand opening in September.

They’re serving up a delicious menu, including smashburgers, a salmon Caesar wrap with Old Bay and hot honey, and more.

In 2024, Markatos went head to head against Mexico On The Run’s Jimmy Longoria on the “Plate It, Baltimore” cooking competition on the Very Local app.
