Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis led the effort to establish Mother’s Day. Though Ann did not see her vision come to fruition before her death, her daughter Anna continued her mother’s work and organized the first Mother’s Day service at St. Andrew’s Methodist Episcopal Church in Grafton, West Virginia, in 1907.
