Leaders and community members from Baltimore City, across the state of Maryland, and beyond honored Baltimore Police Officer Keona Holley as she laid to rest Tuesday.

Holley died one week after she was shot in her police cruiser in Curtis Bay in December.

Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott described Holley as “a devoted public servant who committed her life to making Baltimore a better place.”

Scott added that he “will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that her legacy lives on.”

Gov. Larry Hogan said Holley “served her city with passion and dedication, and she took immense pride in being a police officer.”

Law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, Baltimore County Police Department, Rockville City Police Department and others, shared their solidarity with their colleagues in Baltimore City and with Holley’s friends and family members.
