As we noted earlier this morning, scores of Baltimoreans ran the Boston Marathon yesterday. Many are confirmed safe/uninjured after yesterday’s bombing, but the Baltimore Sun has just reported that one of our own — Towson University grad student and preschool teacher Erika Brannock — has been hospitalized and is currently being treated for “extensive damage” to her feet and lower left leg. Brannock was in Boston to cheer on her mother, who was running the marathon. Brannock graduated from Towson in 2008, and went on to pursue a graduate degree in education at the university. She currently lives in Cockeysville and teaches preschool at Trinity Episcopal Children’s Center in Towson.

UPDATE: We’re sad to report that Brannock had her lower left leg amputated. A fund has been set up on Brannock’s behalf; more information about how/where to donate can be found here.
