From a concert featuring tunes from some of Steven Spielberg’s movies, to Baltimore’s 297th birthday celebration, to a video game music festival, there are so many fun things happening.

A Night of Opera Favorites, Thursday, July 30, 7 p.m., Boordy Vineyards. Experience an outdoor concert with the BSO, featuring opera’s greatest hits and Broadway favorites, with music by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Georges Bizet, and Leonard Bernstein.
Lafayette Gilchrist with Carl Filipiak, Thursday, July 30, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Keystone Korner. Join two Baltimore legends, jazz pianist Lafayette Gilchrist and jazz guitarist Carl Filipiak, for an explosive evening of jazz-funk.
Stoop Stories: Stories of Teenage Bad Ideas and Questionable Judgment, Friday, July 31, 7 p.m., The Theater at Creative Alliance. Join The Stoop for “Before Our Frontal Lobes Formed: Stories of Teenage Bad Ideas and Questionable Judgment,” a night of true stories about the glorious chaos of being a teenager.
Levity x Tape B Present: Summer Program, Friday, July 31, 7 p.m., Pier Six Pavilion. As part of their summer amphitheater takeover, Florida-based bass phenomenon Tape B and Chicago-bred electronic trio Levity will make a stop in Baltimore.
Baltimore’s Birthday Bash 2026, Friday, July 31, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Baltimore War Memorial. Featuring a dance party with dance party with Baltimore’s own DJ Tanz, an open bar, lite bites, and birthday desserts from local vendors, the 12th annual Baltimore’s Birthday Bash will bring together over 1,000 residents, elected officials, sponsors, and city lovers to celebrate Baltimore’s 297th birthday.
Music Under the Dome: Grateful Dead, Friday, July 31, 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., Maryland Science Center. This immersive planetarium experience will feature trippy in-house curated imagery set the to the sounds of the Grateful Dead. Check in early for happy hour, and enjoy adult beverages, special science demonstrations, and access to select exhibits.
Baltimore Crab Crawl 5K and 10K, Saturday, Aug. 1, 7:45 a.m., Participate in the Baltimore Crab Crawl races through Patterson Park. Points will count towards Bishop’s Events’ year-long 5K, 10K, and Back of the Pack series, as well as their Fall Series. There is even a virtual option for those who cannot make it to Patterson Park on the race day. The event benefits Operation Turbo, which ships care packages to U.S. military members who are deployed around the world.
Bit Gen 20, Saturday, Aug. 1, 3 p.m., Ottobar. Bit Gen Gamer Fest will celebrate 20 years with 15 bands on two stages, game-inspired cocktails, and a selection of free-play arcade and console games.
Can I Kick It? Passenger 57 w/ DJ 2-Tone Jones, Saturday, Aug. 1, 7 p.m. in The Theater, Creative Alliance. With a live hip-hop soundtrack, watch as airline security expert John Cutter (Wesley Snipes) battles terrorists at 30,000 feet with smooth one-liners and smoother moves.
John Williams & Steven Spielberg: Movie Magic, Saturday, Aug. 1, 7:30 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Hear the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra perform the music of John Williams, who has composed scores for many of filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s projects, such as “Jaws,” “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” “Jurassic Park,” and others. Steven Reineke will be the conductor for the night.
