Profs & Pints Metro Baltimore: Brain Stories, Thursday, July 23, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Guinness Open Gate Brewery & Barrel House. Take a crash course on the basics of neuroscience with Stuart McCaughey, assistant professor at the University of Delaware.
J. Cole, Thursday, July 23, doors open at 7 p.m., event begins at 8 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Grammy award-winning rapper and singer J. Cole is making a stop in Baltimore for The Fall-Off Tour.
Labyrinth, Thursday, June 23, film begins at 8:45 p.m., activities before film, American Visionary Art Museum. AVAM’s Flicks from the Hill series continues with a showing of the film “Labyrinth.” Like other Flicks from the Hill events, admission to the museum and gift shop will be free from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attendees can participate in a free workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., where artist Lusmerlin will show how to make a fiery divinity. Also, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., participate in a free dance workshop led by Dance Baltimore. No previous experience is required and all ages are welcome for both workshops. The film showing will begin at 8:45 p.m.
O.A.R. Three Decades Tour, Friday, July 24, gates 5:15 p.m., show 6:30 p.m., Merriweather Post Pavilion. Join O.A.R. as they celebrate three decades with special guests Gavin DeGraw and Lisa Loeb.
DJ Diesel aka Shaquille O’Neal, Friday, July 24, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., Power Plant Live. Get ready for a full-throttle experience when DJ Diesel (known offstage as Shaquille O’Neal) takes over Power Plant Live.
Dragon Boat Challenge, Saturday, July 25, 8 a.m., Fells Point near Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park and Museum. Competitors will race in dragon boats along Baltimore’s harbor waterfront. Read more in this Baltimore Fishbowl article.
Melanie Martinez, Saturday, July 25, doors open at 7 p.m., event begins at 8 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Melanie Martinez is coming to Baltimore for Hades: The Sacrifice Tour, and she’s bringing special guest Haute & Freddy with her.
Wild Water Splash Days, Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Maryland Zoo. Enjoy water slides, splash pads, and bounce houses, and watch the Zoo’s animal residents cool off and make a splash in their own unique ways.
