Twelve of Mount Vernon’s architectural treasures and the Mount Clare Museum will be available to tour when the Maryland House & Garden Pilgrimage visits Baltimore City twice next spring.

Organizers of the annual tour program announced their lineups for the Baltimore City legs of their 2026 series, which will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Mount Vernon and on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Mount Clare Museum.

A tradition since 1930, the pilgrimage is dedicated to the preservation of Maryland’s culturally- and historically-significant properties and landscapes. Its self-guided tours offer rare opportunities to explore exceptional interiors and celebrate Maryland’s rich architectural heritage.

Organizers of the ticketed event choose different locations for participants to visit each year and selected the Mount Vernon historic district as the first of seven tour sites in 2026 and Mount Clare Museum at 1500 Washington Blvd. as the fifth tour site.

The pilgrimage also will visit Talbot County on May 9; Charles County on May 16; Cecil County on May 24; the Town of Kensington on June 7; and Frederick County on June 13.

All tours are held rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The buildings on the April 25 Mount Vernon tour are:

  1. I understand that Old St. Paul’s cemetery will be on the tour as well. After years of neglect, several patriotic ancestry groups, and the U. of MD are going to restore it.
