About 200 protesters assembled at Baltimoreโ€™s City Hall on Thursday evening to listen to speeches by local activists and state and federal officials as part of the nationwide โ€œTrump is Not Above the Lawโ€ rally.

The protests came after President Donald Trump reportedly forced out Attorney General Jeff Sessions and tapped Matt Whitaker, a U.S. Justice Department official and frequent critic of Special Counsel Robert Muellerโ€™s investigation into Trumpโ€™s ties to Russia, to serve in an acting capacity.

On Thursday night, Rep. Elijah Cummings, whoโ€™s likely to chair the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in January, told the crowd Whitaker โ€œmust recuse himself.โ€

Here are our photos from the rally.

  1. Beautiful photos, such good work! Thank you to the organizers! I was inspired by Elijah’s speech and by all the speakers!

  2. Mr Giordano thanks for the coverage but please please revise the caption you have about my affiliation. I was there MCing the rally as the CoChair of Baltimore Women United the all volunteer org I co founded after the trump election. My org that I work for (community Development Network) is a nonprofit and should not be affiliated with this event. Please change this. Thanks. I did introduce myself as representing BWU and continued to talk about it throughout the rally never mentioning CDN.
